Let’s get started!!
Students across France held huge protests to ask for better schools. They protested at high schools and marched in cities across the country. They want more teachers, better school buildings and smaller classes. Many classrooms have too many students. Some students also have long school days. They want the government to improve these conditions.
Education Minister Edouard Geffray said the government would send more teachers to schools that need them. He also said the government would consider ways to shorten students’ long school days.
Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu promised that the government would give clear answers and take action by the end of October. However, student leaders said this was not enough. They said they would continue their protests until the government did more to meet their demands.

◆I shortened my speech.
