The final member of the superstar K-pop group BTS has been discharged from South Korea’s military. Rapper and songwriter Suga finished his duties on June 18 and was discharged on June 21.
The group’s management agency said no special events were planned for Suga’s release. They were worried about overcrowding.
Suga served as a social service agent, an alternative form of military service. The other six members of BTS served in the army.
Four other members — RM, V, Jimin and Jung Kook — were also discharged in June. The oldest member, Jin, was discharged in June 2024. J-hope was discharged in October.
BTS fans are very happy about this special moment. Now that everyone has been discharged, the group plans to reunite sometime in 2025.
