Ohtani, 30, achieved this in the seventh year of his Major League Baseball career.

He hit his first major league home run on April 3, 2018. This was during his first year in the major leagues with the Los Angeles Angels.

On April 21 this year, Ohtani hit his 176th MLB home run. This surpassed the previous record set by a Japanese player. That record was set by Hideki Matsui, who played for the New York Yankees and other teams.

On July 2, Ohtani hit a two-run homer against the Arizona Diamondbacks. This marked his 500th and 501st MLB RBIs.
